Superconductivity close to quantum criticality. Pairing of incoherent fermions.
Date/Time: 18:30 29-Jun-2021
Abstract:
Close to quantum criticality both fermions (electrons) and bosons become incoherent. I will argue, that the pairing of electrons due to the exchange of the quantum critical bosons is very different from the BCS (weak coupling) case. The superconductivity and the fermionic incoherence are at odds with one another. I will show that the transition temperature is defined by a pairing of some special fermionic "modes" which are "free from incoherence".
