Eigenfunction non-orthogonality and the shape of reflection minima in coherent perfect absorption

Abstract:
In recent years there were several experiments demonstrating possibility to absorb incoming radiation with nearly perfect efficiency at certain frequencies in the regime of chaos-dominated scattering. I will show that the shape of the arising reflection minima in the simplest single-channel system is determined mainly by non-orthogonality of eigenfunctions corresponding to resonance poles of the associated scattering matrix. Then I provide the first non-perturbative results on statistics of the non-orthogonality factors in RMT framework.
