We analytically investigate the correlation function on the velocity in a geostrophic coherent vortex. Such a vortex is established in a turbulent flow under strong rotation of a liquid. The correlation function is strongly anisotropic, as the vortex flow is a differential rotation, which is locally a shear flow. We find the characteristic scales and the tails of the function for different directions. Next, the turbulent pulsations are helical inside the vortex. The nonzero mean helicity provides the α-effect, if the liquid is electrically conductive. We find the magnitude of α-effect in the limit of weak large-scale magnetic field.
